Hands and Fingers

We had lots of fun at Yates Community Center this morning as we explored the many ways we use our hands. We taped down  some packing material and the children enjoyed popping the big bubbles. Some stepped delicately on the bubble wrap, others stomped exuberantly, and still others got down to closely examine it.

Finger painting was in order as we made circles, swirls, hand prints and fingerprints together.

Of course, we also enjoyed some good books about hands. Hands Can, by Cheryl Willis Hudson, has lovely photographs of children using their hands to wave, plant seeds, reach up high and more. It is also available in Spanish.

We will be at the Yates Community Center for two more Play & Learn sessions. Please join us on October 28 and November 4, 9:30-11:00AM.
