Bedtime stories are a favorite part of many families' early literacy routines. But, what about building early literacy skills outside? Today, at a special Travis Park Play & Learn, families joined Little Read Wagon to do just that!
A simple way to get outdoors and get ready to read is to bring your favorite books and find a comfortable spot to enjoy them together. We brought lots of books about dogs to coincide with the opening of a dog park. Click on the links in the captions to find these books at the San Antonio Public Library.
In addition to reading outside, just about any other outdoor activity can present an opportunity to build early literacy skills. How do you think outdoor play time can support your child in getting ready to read?
