2017-18 Early Literacy Workshop for Teachers

March workshop

Our next workshop for early childhood teachers will be Saturday, March 23, 9:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. We will continue to explore early writing development and how writing experiences support early literacy. For more details, including how to register for the next workshop, visit bit.ly/LRWwrkshp.

Have you been wondering about our next workshop for child care teachers? Little Read Wagon is now using Constant Contact to send out training announcements. Stimulating Story Times for Early Childhood Teachers

Little Read Wagon will offer the "Stimulating Story Times" workshop for child care teachers on September 24, 2011 at the Central Library. You can find more details, including how to enter our registration lottery, by clicking here.

This will be Little Read Wagon's final teacher workshop for the fall. A new early literacy workshop topic will be offered beginning in January 2012. Please be sure to visit our blog again for more information!

February workshop for child care teachers

New registration procedure! Registration for our February 26 workshop begins Monday, February 7 at 6:00 PM. No more rising with the sun to make your registration call! No more "voice inbox is full" messages! But, our space for this workshop will fill quickly, so please be sure to follow the instructions on the flyer.

The San Antonio Public Library's Little Read Wagon early literacy trainings (for those who work with children five and younger) are fun and FREE. Please read the flyer carefully for important details about the day of the workshop.

July Workshop for Early Childhood Professionals

Residents of Bexar County who work directly with young children (birth-five years) and want to learn about how to help young children develop early literacy skills are invited to register for the "Six Skills Summer Refresher." Registration for the July workshop begins at 6:00 a.m. on July 7.

Little Read Wagon will host it's last phonological awareness workshop on Saturday, November 14 at the Central Library. Registration is now closed. Please check back in December for information about our January workshop topic and registration.

September teacher workshop is full!

Don't despair! If you did not call in time to get into our September teacher workshop, you have two more chances in 2009. Our next teacher workshop will be October 10 at the McCreless library.

June Teacher Workshop

Early childhood professionals, please come sing, create, learn and have fun with us!

Registration for the June 20 teacher workshop opens on Monday, June 8, 2009. Please carefully review the workshop flyer before registering. Individuals may call 210-207-2517 on Monday, June 8 and leave a message with your name, work location, age of the children you work with, number of children, and a phone number we can use to confirm your registration.

May caregiver workshops

May brings two workshop opportunities! Please choose either Saturday, May 16 OR Saturday, May 30 and call 207-2517 to register on Monday, May 4. CALL EARLY, as space is limited. Registration is limited to five individuals per work location/center.

***New Guideline***: Each participant must personally call to register. No exceptions. Please leave a message with your full name, work location, age of children in your class, and a phone number. We will return your call to confirm registration.

Remember, if you register but do not attend the workshop AND do not inform Little Read Wagon of your change in plans, you will have to wait 12 months before registering again!

March 28 Teacher Workshop is Closed

Register for the March workshop on Monday, March 16!

Monday, March 16 is the day to call and register for the next teacher workshop. Call early and leave a detailed message: name, work place, age of children you work with, and phone number.

If you are registering more than one person you must provide names and classroom information for each individual. We will return your call later in the day to confirm whether or not you have a space at the workshop.

Please call 207-2517 and leave a message. To ensure that everyone is registered in the order of their call, we will not be answering the phones the morning of March 16.
